Three steps. Every dollar accounted for.

BOSHAT is run by unpaid volunteers, so a gift buys supplies, clinic days, and tuition rather than salaries. Choose where it goes, tell us it’s coming, then send it.

Step one

Choose where it goes.

Pick a fund, or leave it to the board — both are useful, and the second is more flexible than people expect.
Choose where your gift goes

The board directs it to whichever project has the nearest deadline or the widest gap. Unrestricted gifts are the most useful ones we receive, because they can move.

Step two

Tell us what you’re sending.

Zelle and checks arrive with nothing but a name attached. This lets our treasurer match your payment to your wishes. It takes a minute, and no money moves here.

How are you sending it?
Skip this and just send it

We use these details only to match your gift and send your acknowledgment. They go to our treasurer by email, are never sold or shared, and no card or bank details are ever collected on this site. See our privacy policy.

Step three

Send it.

Before you press Send, your app should show BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHOOLS. If it shows any other name, stop — it isn’t us. We will never text or call asking you to send money anywhere else.

Where it goes

What your money is actually doing.

We are small enough that gifts are still traceable to specific things, and we would rather tell you which things than quote an overhead percentage.

  • Straight to institutions, not intermediariesScholarship grants are paid directly to accredited schools and colleges.
  • Budgeted before it is spentEvery project has a written budget approved by the board before work starts.
  • Reported after it is spentProject reporting goes back to the donors and partners who funded it.
  • No paid staffAll 19 board members — directors, advisors, and trustees — are volunteers.

The fine print, in plain English

Tax-deductible
BOSHAT is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN 41-2702247. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We are not tax advisors — please check with yours.
Nothing in return
No goods or services are provided in exchange for a gift made on this page. If an event ticket or item is ever involved, we will tell you in writing how much of the payment is deductible.
Your acknowledgment letter
Once your gift arrives, we email a written acknowledgment with the amount, the date, and the statement the IRS requires. You need one for any single gift of $250 or more. The reference number from step two is not a receipt.
Where designated gifts go
A gift to a named fund is used for that purpose. If a program is ever fully funded or cannot go ahead, the board applies the gift to the closest similar work. Details are in our gift policy.
Mistakes and refunds
Sent the wrong amount, or gave by mistake? Email boshat.org@gmail.com within 30 days and we will put it right.
Our paperwork, on request
Copies of our IRS determination letter, our exemption application, and our annual IRS returns are available to anyone who asks. Email us and we will send them.
Your privacy
We never sell, rent, or share donor information, and no card or bank details are collected on this site. Read the privacy policy.
